Did you know Botox and Fillers are a surprisingly natural way to not only help with lines and wrinkles, but can also treat some pain associated with headaches, migraines, TMJ, etc.? At Point Lumineux, we use conservative dosing to achieve a more natural look.
Botox is injected under the skin to help relax the muscles that can cause wrinkles. It can be used in problem areas such as forehead, crows feet, lips, marionette lines, chin dimples, and under eyes. With continuous treatment over time, Botox can help decrease and prevent future permanent wrinkles.
Filler is a collagen based injection to help fill in the lines often left behind from wrinkles. Your body naturally absorbs the collagen and can decrease the depth of the lines, and, overtime, can help prevent permanent lines.
In addition to cosmetic injections, Botox can be used to help with the pain of migraines and TMJ. There are over 30 points it can be injected to help with pain associated with migraines.
Call Point Lumineux at 941.2176828 to schedule a consultation with our Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, Jamie Yost, to see how you can benefit from Botox and Fillers!

Glutathione is your liver’s best friend. It is a simple molecule composed of three sulfur containing amino acids that help the body detoxify. In today’s modern world, environmental toxins and poor diet combine to increase toxic load to a point where it is nearly impossible to get enough glutathione from dietary sources to offset toxic exposure. This toxic load has serious consequences for weight loss and wellness.
Research at the Baylor College of Medicine in Waco, Texas suggests that stubborn belly fat and obesity may be caused by toxins and free radicals produced by the body following the heavy intake of sugar and carbohydrates. Uncontrolled buildup of toxins leads to a condition where the body stores more fat and uses less calories making weight loss more difficult. Weight gain isn’t the only concern, though. Long term build-up of toxins will lead to serious inflammatory diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disease.
The biochemical processes that govern fat metabolism and appetite are compromised under heavy toxic load. Exercise and healthy diet may not be sufficient to offset high levels of toxicity. Even diet products, diet pills and artificial sweeteners work against you by adding more toxins into the mix.
In addition, fat cells perform a protective function for the body. If the liver and antioxidant levels are unhealthy, fat cells come to the rescue by storing toxins that cannot be handled by the body. The body will then hold onto the fat cells until the body is healthy enough to handle the toxins that the fat has enveloped.
Glutathione injections along with Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and MIC Lipotropic are fat burning antioxidants that help to clear toxins from the body. They provide other benefits such as enhanced energy, improved cardio function, enhanced metabolism, hormone balancing, and enhanced mental clarity and concentration.
At Point Lumineux, we will customize a program to your needs using detailed medical history and state of the art lab diagnostics to recommend the necessary dietary changes, supplements and injections that will bring your body into balance on a cellular level to enhance detoxification and weight loss.

As I took Michelle’s yoga class yesterday, she talked about the health benefits of the twisting postures we were doing. As I twisted, I could feel each bone, muscle and organ benefiting. It was fantastic!
Michelle Roy (see photo) teaches yoga here at Point Lumineux every Tuesday and Friday. I make it a point to get to at least one a week because of the many health benefits.
Twists are postures that generally involve moving the shoulder girdle to face in an opposing direction in relation to the hips. There are different twists that target the upper, middle and lower portions of the torso, all having their own unique set of health benefits. Here are four primary benefits:
Open the Heart and Reduce Stress – In our hi-tech worlds, we are all hunched forward most of the time. Twists encourage opening the chest which opens the heart chakra and, as Chinese Medicine explains, reduces stress and anxiety.
Reduce Back Pain – I personally experience both neck and low back pain due to working at a computer for long hours. Twists stretch and strengthen the back muscles which can provides relief from the back pain caused by everyday life.
Detox – When you are in a twist, each of your organs gets compressed and blood flow is reduced. When you come out of the twist, fresh blood rushes into the organs cleansing the cells of built up waste. Stagnant impurities will also move more easily through the digestive tract.
Improved Digestion – Digestion is improved as a result of squeezing the digestive organs and releasing them essentially wringing them out. Fresh blood flow equals fresh oxygen and nutrients which help all the organs function more efficiently!
Register now for yoga at “The Point” every Tuesday at noon and Friday at 9 am. Packages available.

The most common vitamin deficiency is not a vitamin at all. It’s a hormone. Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is the hormone that every mammal uses to indicate when it’s winter time. The sun hitting the skin begins a biochemical chain reaction involving both the liver and the kidneys that eventually affects every system in our body.
During winter, when sun is scarce, Vitamin D3 levels drop indicating to the body that it’s time to hibernate as there will inevitably be less food available. The biological changes include the following: Metabolism slows through the action of the thyroid; Fat is stored rather than burnt as fuel; Sex hormones and fertility wane; Sleep cycles lengthen and lighten; Energy levels and brain function drop; and our vital Immune system goes to standby mode.
The problem is that in our modern age, we either work too much and miss the sun or are deliberately avoiding the sun due to a fear of cancer. Ironically, Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to many diseases including cancer, depression, autoimmune diseases, obesity, asthma, migraines, dementia, diabetes, heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and more.
Increasing Vitamin D levels to OPTIMAL range (60-80 g/ml), can decrease your risk of cancer by up to 77 percent per a recent study at the Creighton University School of Medicine. The clincher is that the recommended daily allowances of Vitamin D3 needed to increase levels has been grossly miscalculated by the Academy of Sciences (NAS) Institute of Medicine (IOM). Maintenance doses of Vitamin D3 vary, but are generally between 3,000 and 5,000 iu per day.
If you suspect your Vitamin D levels are low, call Point Lumineux at 941.217.6828 to book an appointment to get your Vitamin D levels tested. We can work with you to create a protocol tailored to your specific needs of oral and/or injectable Vitamin D to increase your Vitamin D levels to optimal ranges and get you feeling better!
